About the Engineer Choice Website

Thanks for coming to our site. In case we haven’t met yet, I’m Michael and am a practicing engineer who wanted to demystify the profession for anyone considering engineering as a career path.

When I talk to non-engineers, they usually have no idea what we do. They might guess that we drive trains…. The reality is that engineering is an exciting, creative profession. For anyone with the capability and interest, deciding to go into engineering can be an incredibly fulfilling and rewarding decision.

I’m an engineer myself, and have hired and managed many engineering teams. This site is dedicated to answering the common questions you may have if you are considering going down the path of professional engineer.

Michael T.

I did my undergraduate training as an electrical and computer engineer, and then went to work for an industrial company.

Starting as an electrical engineer in a manufacturing plant, I designed production equipment, new control instrumentation, and managed both capacity expansion and cost control projects.

I’ve worked as a project engineer, applications engineer, and sales engineer. Along the way I did an MBA, and eventually transitioned to sales, marketing and business development. I enjoy working directly with customers (usually engineers) to solve problems and bring advanced technologies to life.
